The project involved a number of challenges. First, understanding the peculiarities and complexity of the relationship between SME companies and academic units. Second, data collection and analysis required meticulousness and a precise approach in order to obtain reliable and credible results. Another challenge was to present the survey results in a way that would be understandable and useful to both academics and business practitioners. We wanted our study not only to contribute to theory, but also to provide practical guidance for SME companies. Despite these challenges, thanks to the dedication and determination of our team, we were able to successfully complete the project and deliver valuable results. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the University of Lodz for their trust and the opportunity to carry out this interesting and valuable project. We are confident that our study will contribute to a better understanding of the challenges faced by technology companies in the SME sector and will help in formulating effective strategies for cooperation with scientific entities.
