Researcher-Interpreters
Our team combines psychology, anthropology, and commercial acumen. We don’t just collect data — we uncover what it means.
Surveys tell you what consumers do. Insights tell you why — and that changes everything.
You have dashboards full of data. You know purchase frequency, basket size, and NPS scores. But you don’t know why your most loyal customers are quietly switching to a competitor. That “why” is the insight — a deep, non-obvious observation about consumer motivations, barriers, and tensions that, once uncovered, becomes the foundation of a strategy that actually works.
Insights are not observations. “Women buy more skincare products” is an observation. “Women buy premium skincare because the 10-minute evening routine is the only moment in their day that’s entirely for themselves — and cheaper products feel like they’re not worth that moment” is an insight. The difference? An observation describes behaviour. An insight explains the emotional logic behind it — and gives you a strategic lever to pull.
Our insight discovery process. Phase 1: Qualitative exploration — in-depth interviews, ethnographic observation, consumer diaries, and focus groups with projective techniques. We search for patterns, tensions, and surprises. Phase 2: Insight formulation — we crystallise findings into actionable insight statements (observation + motivation + tension). Phase 3: Quantitative validation — we test whether the insight holds across the broader population via CAWI or CATI surveys.
Where insights create value. Brand positioning (what deep need does the brand uniquely satisfy?), new product development (what unmet needs exist that no competitor addresses?), advertising creative (what message resonates at the emotional level?), customer experience innovation (what friction moments can be eliminated?), and pricing strategy (what is the consumer truly willing to pay for — and why?).
Fieldstat’s insight practice. Our researchers combine psychology, anthropology, and commercial acumen. We don’t just collect qualitative data — we interpret it. Every insight project delivers an insight map, validated consumer tensions, and a strategic recommendation brief that your brand, product, and creative teams can act on immediately.

What are the deep, unarticulated needs of our customers?
What truly motivates consumers to choose our brand?
What tensions and frustrations accompany consumers in our category?
How are the values and aspirations of our target group changing?
What insights could become the foundation of a new communication strategy?
Our team combines psychology, anthropology, and commercial acumen. We don’t just collect data — we uncover what it means.
We combine qualitative depth (IDI, ethnography, focus groups) with quantitative validation (CAWI, CATI) for insights that are both deep and scalable.
We facilitate collaborative sessions with your brand and strategy teams to embed insights into decision-making.
Every project delivers an insight map, validated tensions, and a strategic recommendation brief — not a stack of transcripts.
Insight projects across FMCG, pharma, fintech, telecom, and retail — we bring cross-pollination of patterns from diverse industries.
We align on the business challenge, target consumer profile, and key hypotheses to explore.
We conduct IDIs, focus groups, ethnography, and/or consumer diaries to surface patterns, tensions, and emotional triggers.
Our analysts synthesise qualitative findings into structured insight statements: observation + motivation + tension.
We test insight prevalence and segment variation via CAWI/CATI survey (N=300–500).
You receive a validated insight map, consumer tension framework, and strategic recommendation brief for brand, product, and creative teams.
Typically 4–8 weeks: 2–3 weeks for qualitative exploration, 1 week for formulation, and 1–2 weeks for quantitative validation.
Insight projects typically range PLN 30,000–70,000, depending on the number of qualitative sessions, geographic scope, and quantitative sample size.
A data point tells you what consumers do. An insight tells you why — it contains an element of surprise, emotional motivation, and a tension that creates a strategic lever for your brand.
Qualitative-only projects deliver rich insight hypotheses. Adding quantitative validation confirms which insights are widespread vs. niche. We recommend the full mixed-method approach for strategic decisions.
Absolutely — this is one of the most common applications. An insight-driven creative brief grounds your advertising in genuine consumer emotions rather than assumptions.
Data tells you what happened. Insights explain why it happened and what to do about it. A true insight combines quantitative evidence with qualitative understanding to reveal non-obvious opportunities.
Through a multi-method approach: quantitative surveys for scale, qualitative research (focus groups, IDIs, ethnography) for depth, and analytical frameworks to translate findings into strategic recommendations.
